The women's European Championships has only one game left of the tournament, where either England will defend their title or Spain will win it for the very first time.

The women's Euros has reached its end, after weeks of matches filled with drama and intensity. 16 nations started off in the competition, which has been taking place in Switzerland. And now, we're a game away from discovering the champions.

It's been quite the ride in getting to this point. We've seen incredible games with shocks and talent showcased.

It will be quite the final to look forward to. Two of the competition's finalists have made their way over to its conclusion. The final takes place on Sunday, the 27th of July at 17:00 (UK).

Both sides have had rather contrasting displays in their runs. For England, they have found themselves on the edge of an exits but pulled off massive comebacks in the most surprising manner. For Spain, they sailed through rather comfortably and were only actually troubled when they met Germany in their last fixture.

The Lionesses' group stage contained two wins, a 4-0 over Netherlands and then a 6-1 against Wales, but they did fall to France in a 2-1 loss. They finished the group in second.

They then met Sweden. A match that took an unexpected turn as they were 2-0 down before half time, a worrying situation that seemed as if maybe England's time would be coming to an end. But, they later on found two goals to equalise and take Sweden into extra time. A penalty shoot-out gave England the win.

Their last game was against Italy. And there were some similarities in how things happened. The regining champions were 1-0 down in the 96th minute and time looked as it had run out, but they didn't let it stop them as they made it 1-1 in the last few minutes. Extra time was played and in the last few minutes of the that, Chloe Kelly completed the job for England by getting a 2-1 win.

For Spain, they were victorious in all three group games against Italy, Portugal and Belgium. Their next opponents were hosts Switzerland, and the champions of the world were unfazed as they secured a 2-0 win. Their toughest test came against Germany, who took them all the way into extra time with a 0-0 scoreline. However, Aitana Bonmati was the deciding name as she scored the winning goal to make it 1-0.

This sets us up for an unmissable final between two of the best teams in the world, as England hope to defend their title and Spain aim to win the Euros for the first time, adding the trophy next to their World Cup and Nations League.

But whatever the differences, both have achieved whatever country hoped to achieve, and that is to be in with a chance of claiming the title.
