The women's European Championships featured its second semi-final on Wednesday night, as two of the biggest favourites, Spain and Germany, went head-to-head.
The women's Euros has almost reached its end, as the conclusion takes place this Sunday, the 27th of July, and will crown its winner after weeks of dramatic fixtures.
The first matchup saw a historic night for England, who, despite only being a few minutes away from elimination by Italy as they carried a 1-0 lead, found themselves equalising in the 96th minute and took their opponents into extra time. The last few minutes of the 30 arrived, and it was still 1-1, but Chloe Kelly stepped up and scored the winner. The impossible was done, and the Lionesses booked their place in the final, much to the heartbreak of Italy.
The second semi-final was a massive clash between Germany and Spain. Two of the tournament's favourites.
The match did not fail to disappoint. Both sides' quality prevented the other from getting infront, meaning they could not separate themselves during the normal 90 minutes.
Extra time was to be played. Where a goal scored would most likely be the winning move to send the team through to the final.
It was looking more and more likely that neither of them would be able to get that crucial finish, but then one moment changed eveythng as Aitana Bonmati, with only a few minutes left, broke the deadlock and sent her country into celebrations.
And that was that. Germany were left devastated and Spain once again proved just why they are one of the best, if not the best, team in international football.
The win sets up a repeat of the FIFA World Cup final, where Spain claimed a 1-0 win over England to become world champions.
A matchup that maybe a majority of people may have predicted going into the tournament. Which just goes to show how impressive both these sides are, making it tough to guess what the final match will have in store for us.
The conclusion clash between England and Spain will be on Sunday, the 27th of July at 17:00 (UK), where someone will take the title.
