Manchester City women’s team have ended their Women’s Super League month after taking on fixtures, where they claimed wins.
Manchester City’s women's team had a successful December in the Women’s Super League, where they not only won all of their games but also kept their placement as leaders of the league.
Against Leicester City, the Citzyens left it late, but still managed a 3-0 win, with goals coming from Khadija Shaw and Kerolin Nicoli.
Then, they met Aston Villa, and that was quite the game as Manchester City got a 6-1 victory. Shaw secured four goals, while Vivianne Miedema and Aoba Fujino also got goals to help their side get the crucial win.
With this, Manchester City are leading the WSL, and also with a gap between themselves and Chelsea.
This has been quite the attempt for triumph by Manchester City, who, out of 14 fixtures, have won 13. Their only loss came to Chelsea at the beginning of the term, but since then, they have proved capable and also made themselves a force to be reckoned with.
Let’s take a look at how the current WSL standings shape.

Andree Jeglertz after Manchester City’s result
“It’s been great. We’ve not only won games, but we’ve also put in good performances in general. Some we haven’t 100% satifised in, but we found ways to win all games except Chelsea. Although not everything's been perfect, we’ve found ways and that prove the mentality of the team.”
Manchester City have one more fixture remaining this month, which will be against West ham in the FA League Cup.
In the WSL, they’ll next be playing on the 11th January, where they’ll meet Everton. Their next fixtures will be vital in their aim to stay at the top of the table, but they have established multiple times that they are giving all of their rivals a fight, one that seems to be in their favour.
Manchester City have a massive chance, but they’ll have to remain getting wins and being at the top of the table. If they can do this, they’ll truly be on their way to potential conquest.
