The Premier League had its match weekend twenty-two, where sides met and attempted to claim vital victories.

The Premier League’s twenty-second match weekend displayed crucial fixtures with essential results for the standings.

Last time, Manchester City’s draw with Brighton and Aston Villa’s draw against Crystal Palace added a missed chance for them to reduce the lead on Arsenal, who themselves had a draw with Liverpool.

Brentford and Liverpool were on fourth and fifth, with Newcastle and Manchester United not too far off, as were Chelsea. Sunderland, Fulham and Brighton were also keeping as potential contenders.

Among the games, there was the Manchester derby, where the Cityzens were aiming to keep up in the title race, but for United, they looked to boost themselves in their quest for the top five.

Also, Aston Villa took on Everton, Chelsea met Brentford, and there was Sunderland vs Crystal Palace.

The next matches will be on the 24th, 25th, and 26th.

Let’s take a look at the games and how the table shapes in the PL.

The Premier League results

Manchester United 2-0 Manchester City

Sunderland 2-1 Crystal Palace

Chelsea 2-0 Brentford

Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Tottenham 1-2 West ham

Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Nottingham Forest 0-0 Arsenal

Despite the Gunners getting another draw, Villa and Man City were unable to make the most of this, as they both were defeated. This means Arsenal remain with a lengthy gap, and will favour themselves in a very good scenario regarding their title chances. It was big wins for Manchester United, Chelsea, and Sunderland, while Liverpool and Newcastle settled for draws.

But overall, it was mostly positive scorelines for the current clubs in the relegation sections, as Burnley drew with Liverpool, Wolves also had a draw with Newcastle, and West ham gained a win against Tottenham.
