The Premier League held its fifth match weekend, where 10 big fixtures took place.

The Premier League’s match weekend five saw all 20 clubs once again make their attempts to secure crucial wins.

Going into this match weekend, Liverpool were leaders with 12 points, with Arsenal and Bournemouth behind them. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest would have been looking to get much needed positive results. Manchester City’s 3-0 win in the Manchester derby gave them a boost and gave them six points.

The fixtures for the fifth match weekend included Manchester City vs Arsenal, the Merseyside derby, Chelsea taking on Manchester United, and West ham vs Crystal Palace, to name some.

While Liverpool's Merseyside derby win keeps them as league leaders, the draws for Bournemouth, Arsenal and Tottenham mean the point gap between second and first is now five points, a big boost for Liverpool.

Manchester City's draw sees them remaining making progress, but means they are eight away from first, and Chelsea’s loss to Manchester United pushes them down to sixth.

Elsewhere, Fulham, Leeds, and Crystal Palace claimed wins that see them add more points to their names.
