The Premier League had its eighteenth match weekend, where all sides attempted to claim crucial results.

Going into this, Aston Villa, who had a 2-1 win against Manchester United, and Manchester City, 3-0 winners against West ham, were aiming to keep up with leaders Arsenal, who remained at the top after their 1-0 win against Everton.

Elsewhere, Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle and Liverpool's 2-1 win against Tottenham put them in the top five, but Manchester United, Sunderland, and Crystal Palace weren’t far off.

Among the games, there was Manchester United vs Newcastle, Chelsea vs Aston Villa, Arsenal vs Brighton, and Brentford vs Bournemouth.

For Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester City, their aim was to add more points to remain in contention in the bid for the league, while for others, such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and their other rivals, their task was to keep adding wins to go higher on the table.

The next games of the PL will be on the 30th and the 1st, which will be an early midweek batch of matches, going into a brand new year. There will be Liverpool taking on Leeds, Sunderland and Manchester City meeting, and also, Arsenal vs Aston Villa.
