The Premier League had its nineteenth match week, where big fixtures saw vital results.

The Premier League had its nineteenth match week take place, where sides attempted to get crucial results.

Going into these games, Manchester City and Aston Villa were entering after wins. For the Cityzens, it was a 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest, and for Villa, they had a 2-1 result against Chelsea. This had them nearby Arsenal, who themselves had a 2-1 win against Brighton to remain as PL leaders.

Elsewhere, Liverpool made it into the top five, alongside Chelsea, who, despite being in that placement, had other sides helping to reduce their lead.

This midweek batch of matches had Chelsea vs Bournemouth, Crystal Palace vs Fulham, and Arsenal vs Aston Villa.

As the league goes on and the race between these sides does as well, these results and fixtures become even more crucial, especially for the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Arsenal, as their battle becomes even more intense due to the adjacent point gap.

For Liverpool and Chelsea, their task was to maintain themselves higher on the table, while Manchester United, Sunderland, and Brentford were aiming to take over.

The next match weekend will be on the third and fourth, where Arsenal take on Bournemouth, Newcastle will be meeting Crystal Palace, and there will also be Manchester City vs Chelsea.

Let’s take a look at the results in the PL and how the standings shape.
