Manchester City have booked their place in the final of The Perth Cup, after coming off victorious against Leicester City in a dramatic encounter.
Manchester City have been taking part in an Australia tour, where they were also given a chance to secure silverware before the start of the Women's Super League.
The usual friendly games have an extra twist for the participating clubs, which comes as the fixtures being two semi-finals, a third-place playoff and then a final.
Man City played fellow Women's Super League side Leicester City on Wednesday, and the game wasn't easy for either club. They ended both normal time and extra time goalless, meaning the winner would be decided by a penalty shootout.
The two were no strangers to a penalty decider, after having to settle who claimed points last season in the Conti Cup group stage, which ultimately ended in Leicester City's favour.
However, this time the joy fell for Manchester City, who won the penalty shootout 4-3, with new recruit Vivianne Miedema scoring the winning goal to secure a place in the final.
Manchester City's opponents in the final have been confirmed, with Paris Saint-Germain edging out West ham with a 1-0 scoreline.
An exciting fixture to look forward to as two of the biggest clubs go head-to-head in a bid for a pre-season honour. Man City will have a few days before they meet the French side, with the fixture landing on the first of September, Sunday at 10:10 (UK time).
Manager Gareth Taylor shared his thoughts about the game produced by his squad
"I think it's a good start for us. Of course, there are some things for us to work on but it's really difficult. You prepare for these games as much as you can by replicating it in training and sometimes when we haven't quite got enough in the game we tend to start to open our lungs a bit."
"And obviously with the crowd here, it's really big occasion for some of our players. So I'm really pleased. I thought we should have had a penalty at the end in normal time but it (penalty shootout) was good experience for us."
Taylor references an incident that he believes should have resulted in a penalty in his team's favour, however, the referee disagreed but fortunately, Garth's team prevailed in the penalty decider, giving them a chance of claiming a trophy.
