The Women's Super League schedule for the upcoming season has been released once again - after the first one wasn't able to provide any information regarding dates or times.

When the fixture list of announced, we found out about the huge task that awaits on the very first day of the new campaign, as Man City and Arsenal find each other as their first opponents of the Women's Super League season.

Both teams were not successful in winning the League last season, with Man City finishing in second and only just missing out due to goal difference. While Arsenal's chances came to an end a while before the season was about to come to an end and they finished in third.

However, the Gunners did put themselves in a pivotal role as one of their results indeed helped decide the winner of the League. This result came as a very late 2-1 win over the Cityzens, who were leading 1-0 late into the match and looked as if they were taking three points with them. If the game had ended that way, it would have been Man City who actually won the League due to having three extra points compared to Chelsea, but losing that game to Arsenal came costly and eventually saw them just narrowly missing out on the trophy.

Manchester City's opening day will see them not only want to start the season off with three points but also get one over the team that helped them miss out on the League title.
