The Argentina national team surpasses Manchester City and Real Madrid

The Argentine men's national football team, the reigning world champions, has been selected as the Team of the Year for 2023 by the International Sports Press Association, following a survey among 405 journalists from 107 countries.

The Albiceleste secured the top spot with a total of 666 points.

Manchester City claimed the second position with 440 points after winning the Champions League, the English Premier League, the FA Cup, the Super Cup, and the Club World Cup in 2023.

In the third spot was the Spanish women's national football team with 308 points, having clinched their first-ever world title in Australia and New Zealand.

Real Madrid secured the seventh position in the poll with 175 points, while the Barcelona women's team ranked ninth with 164 points.
