There have been reports that Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, contacted a Real Madrid star to persuade him to join the Citizens.

Numerous reports have previously indicated that Rodrigo may become a backup player next season, following the official signing of French striker Kylian Mbappe.

Jose Felix Diaz, a journalist for "Marca" and the "El Chiringuito" program on YouTube, said: "There are two aspects concerning Rodrygo Goes' future: the club isn't shutting the door on him, and he hasn't ruled out the possibility of leaving."

He added, "I heard that Guardiola called Rodrygo recently, but I can't confirm it 100%. The player feels unsettled, and we'll see how things unfold. A few minor incidents occurred last week."

He concluded, "The European Super Cup and the first match of the Spanish League will be crucial in determining Rodrygo's future."

Rodrygo recently cast doubt on his future when asked in an interview before the Champions League final, "All of Europe wants you, but do you want Madrid forever?" He responded, "Yes, well... anything can happen... I have a contract here. But I've enjoyed my time here."

British reports have stated that Real Madrid officials were displeased with Rodrygo's statement, although the player later issued a clarification.

These developments add a layer of intrigue to the transfer saga surrounding Rodrygo. With Guardiola's rumored interest and Rodrygo's uncertain future at Real Madrid, speculation about a potential move to Manchester City is growing.
