Portuguese hacker Rui Pinto claims he has conclusive evidence against Manchester City, some of which he hasn't handed over to the authorities. This evidence allegedly proves the English club deliberately deceived financial fair play rules in the Premier League.
Currently, Manchester City faces 115 charges related to financial fair play, with a hearing set for November. According to The Sun, Pinto said, "Manchester City's data showed financial amounts that were not reported to football authorities."
He continued, "These documents are part of the Premier League's investigation into Manchester City. I handed over five hard drives to French and German authorities containing millions of documents, including more about City. I described what's on each one, and I'm confident they will find them."
He added, "Investigators contacted us to share information about Manchester City that hasn't been disclosed before. We haven't revealed this information yet, but we have a large file of documents related to Manchester City that haven't been made public. These files will be released at some point, though we can't say when, but we will do it."
The 2023-24 season saw Everton and Nottingham Forest face penalties for violating profit and sustainability rules in the Premier League.
This ongoing investigation underscores the seriousness with which financial regulations are enforced in the Premier League, reflecting a broader commitment to maintaining fair competition and financial integrity in football. As Manchester City prepares to address these allegations, the potential ramifications could be significant, impacting not only the club's financial practices but also its reputation and standing within the football community.
