Manchester City's six goals against Copenhagen ranked
By Hidayah Ali
Manchester City have qualfifed for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, after getting a 3-1 win over Copenhagen on Wednesday night, with an overall 6-2 score across both legs.
Man City will have to wait a week to find out who they will face next, as there are still four matches to be played.
Manchester City breezed through their round-of-16 tie, with Kevin De Bruyne finding the back of the net 10 minutes into the first game. In the second match, City was already 2-0 up before 10 minutes had even been marked.
Now, Pep and the squad will turn their focus to the Premier League as they face leaders Liverpool in a game in which a win for Coty could put them at the top of the League.
For now, let's focus on the Champions League results, with so many goals scored by the current holders.
From least favourite to most impressive, here are the six Man City goals ranked by us.
6 - Julian Alvarez (Leg two, 5-1)
Despite being ranked the lowest, this goal was breathtaking. Alvarez's precision and the shot's accuracy from such a distance was mindblowing. However, due to Copenhagen's goalkeeper, Grabara, helping complete this attempt, that's why it's ranked the lowest.
5 - Kevin De Bruyne (Leg one, 1-0)
With Kevin De Bruyne on the pitch, anything seems possible, and after months of being sidelined, it's great to see him back and doing what he does best. A well-played pass by Phil Foden led to De Bruyne simply slotting the ball past the Copenhagen keeper, a great goal.
4 - Bernardo Silva (Leg one, 2-1)
Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne worked together to create this goal. De Bruyne showed absolute class in the build-up, and Bernardo quickly kicked it into the goal. Just wow.
3 - Erling Haaland (Leg two, 6-2)
Haaland's astonishing control and determination to score this goal was spectacular, but Rodri deserves a huge shoutout. The Spaniard's assist for Haaland was one of the best you'll see.
2 - Phil Foden (Leg one, 3-1)
There was an impeccable build-up: Matheus Nunes to Phil Foden to Kevin De Bruyne and then back to Foden, who slides the ball into the back of the net. I could watch that goal forever.
1 - Manuel Akanji (Leg two, 4-1)
It was a simple goal compared to the rest, but this particular goal was outstanding. Alvarez took a corner that went straight to the toes of Akanji, who put it in the back of the net. It was just simply amazing.
