Despite two more seasons left on his contract, Sergio Gomez looks set to be heading out of Manchester City this summer, as multiple reports suggesting his next location have emerged.

Gomez signed for Manchester City back in 2022 on a four-year contract and has made 38 appearances overall, with 23 in the 22/23 season and 15 in the 23/24 season.

During these two years, Gomez has won a total of five honours with Manchester City; two Premier Leagues, one Super Cup, one Club World Cup and the Champions League.

Despite this four-year deal, it does seem as if Gomez's time at Man City is coming to an end as many news reports have suggested so.

According to different sources such as Y!Sports and SportsMole, Roma are the club that is most likely to attain Sergio's signature for next season.

It's been said that both clubs are in talks but nothing has been confirmed as of right now. While it's suggested that it could come as a loan deal, there could be the attachment of an obligation to buy for Roma; meaning Sergio Gomez really doesn't seem in any of Man City's upcoming plans.

Roma will be searching for a new name to take over Leanardo Spinazzola's role, who departed the club last month after his contract came to an end. Sergio Gomez seems as the definite candidate to take over for the Serie A side.

There still remains two years on Gomez's current contract with Man City, but considering the lack of game time and participation in these last two seasons, his future as a Cityzen doesn't look very probable.

Sergio Gomez himself has spoken about what his future could look like, and he responded "I haven't talked to him (Pep Guardiola) about next season, but I want to stay there. I'm going to go from the first day of pre-season with a lot of desire to show him that I can have more minutes. The idea is to stay there, it is my wish."

Gomez himself has shown his preference to stay with the Sky Blues, and his words show clear determination to go higher in the ranks at Man City while continuing his stay next season. His aim to prove himself worthy of a place within the squad looks clear, and while it can't be denied that Gomez has potential, maybe that potential will need to be fulfilled elsewhere for now.

While this situation remains to be seen, the probability of an exit for the player could be deemed very high.
