Kevin De Bruyne's Belgium crashed out of the European Championships after conceding a late own goal by Jan Vertogen to push France through to the quarter-finals.
In a game that looked as if it was heading for another 30 minutes of play, as both teams headed into the 80th mark 0-0, disappointingly for Belgium an own goal shattered their hopes of making it to the next round, sending France through instead where they will meet Portugal.
Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku become the latest names to be eliminated from this edition of the Euros, joining Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic in early exits.
De Bruyne described their loss as "Unfortunate" and his disheartenment was very apparent in the whole press conference.
But, his frustration came out after a question from a journalist about Bleigum's lack of success struck a nerve.
"Is it hard that the Golden Generation didn't achieve a final?" was the comment De Bruyne did not take a liking to, as he replied "What is the 'Golden Generation'? And you say that France, Germany, England Spain is not a Golden Generation?"
After that, he finished the press conference and walked out, but it was said he mumbled the word 'Stupid' whilst leaving.
Tancredi Palmeri, the journalist who received the display of attitude from Kevin, took to his social media and fired back a response at the 33-year-old, "Ahah De Bruyne just called me stupid. Hey Kevin, a little memo for you: the Golden Generation you mentioned France, Germany, England and Spain they ALL REACHED A FINAL! Usual footballer that wants only question telling him how good they are. Spoiled brat."
Many will argue that the question was simply not needed at the time considering he had just faced a huge loss, but it could be said the question had many rights to be asked.
It will be heavily believed that the comparison made by De Bruyne doesn't contain much similarity between the teams all mentioned, and his response probably shouldn't have come out the way it did.
But, his annoyance is understood in terms of losing out on another tournament with the Red Devils.
Four Manchester City players have left the competition, with Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic being the first two after coming third in the group but with only two points.
But, there are still a bundle of Cityzens remaining heading into the quarter-finals, with only two last round of 16 fixtures left.
So far, it's confirmed that Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Matheus Nunes and Rodri will all be in the quarter-finals stage, while Nathan Ake's Netherlands still remains to be seen as they take on Romania on Tuesday evening.
