How Manchester City players fared during international break

Let's take a look at the numbers created by the Man City players

For the last 2 weeks, our players have been playing for their countries on international duty. Playing in various different competitions eg UEFA Nations League. In this article, we take a look at how the Manchester City players have fared during the break.

Ederson in both games, sat on the bench for the two matches Brazil had against Ecuador and Paraguay for the South American World Cup qualifying. So he'll be well-rested for the games ahead.

Nathan Ake played a decent amount of minutes for The Netherlands, in their UEFA Nations League games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany, playing a combined total of 111 minutes. Against Germany, he was carried away on a stretcher due to injury.

Josko Gvardiol played two full games for Croatia against Portugal and Poland. His Portuguese club teammate, Ruben Dias also played two full matches against Croatia and Scotland. Manuel Akanji also played two matches for Switzerland against Denmark and Spain.  

John Stones played 84 minutes against Ireland and Finland for England. Rico Lewis played for England against Finland playing the entire game. However, against Ireland, he was on the bench.

Euro 2024 champion Rodri played 59 minutes for Spain against Switzerland.  Gvardiol's Croatian teammate Mateo Kovacic, played a total of 169 minutes against Portugal and Poland. Bernardo Silva played 158 minutes for Portugal, against Croatia and Scotland.

De Bruyne in the two international games for Belgium, and had a combined total of two goals. Jack Grealish, for England against Ireland and Finland played 167 minutes and scored against his former international team Ireland.

Jeremy Doku played a total of 157 minutes for Belgium and had one assist over the two games he played. James McAtee played two matches with England U-21s over the break. In the friendly match against Austria, he scored a goal and received an assist.

Erling Haaland in his two matches with Norway in the Nations League - had one goal over the two matches. Over the international break, the most prolific player of the squad was Kevin De Bruyne, who found himself scoring twice.

The players will soon be returning back to Manchester City, with the next task falling on the 14th of September this coming weekend as Brentford await a tough encounter with the Sky Blues.
