Pep Guardiola, Manchester City's manager, commented on the rumors linking Erling Haaland, the team's striker, to a move to Real Madrid.

Guardiola said in his statements: "One report, one journalist, one Twitter account, or one Instagram account, do you think they will change anything? It will not happen."

He added: "The change will happen if Erling Haaland decides to extend or reject his contract, or when the club decides to extend or reject the player's contract, or it depends on potential offers."

He continued: "If someone wants to sign Erling, it's easy. Contact Manchester City and ask. That's what we do when we want to sign someone. It's not more complicated than that."

Guardiola emphasized: "We want Haaland to stay with us for a very long time at this club. For a long time because we love him and want him."

He further stated: "I don't have information about what will happen in the future. Haaland arrived last season and had a fantastic impact, and at the beginning of this season, the numbers were also very good, but he was injured for two months."

Guardiola added: "We are happy to have him, and we hope he is happy to be with us. That's what we know. The rest, we don't know."

He continued: "It's natural for Real Madrid to want to sign the best players, and Barcelona as well, and the same for Italian clubs or Paris Saint-Germain; they all want the best players."

Guardiola explained: "We want the best players at City, and Manchester United wants the best players, and Liverpool, and Arsenal, and everyone wants that. It's normal, not a surprise."

He clarified: "Linking Haaland to Real Madrid is an honor for us. It means we have done good work, especially Erling. As for whether it's true, I don't know. It's just to create a bit of noise. No problem. Of course, I completely ignore it, and it doesn't bother me at all."

Guardiola concluded: "As long as the players focus on what they need to do, the rest is not important.
