Manchester City have announced their latest signing of this summer's transfer window, as English international Eve Annets joins the club on a four-year contract.

Eve Annets has become the latest name to arrive within the club this summer. She becomes the third goalkeeper in the squad, and she is alongside last season's main starter, Khiara Keating, and Scotland's Sandy Maciever. She will also be seen as a replacement for the former Cityzen goalie Ellie Roebuck, who departed the club a couple of weeks ago and joined Catalan side Barcelona.

Eve expressed her excitement about the move to the Sky Blues, in an interview after her arrival was confirmed by the club.

"I mean a club like this, to hear they're interested in you is just a feeling that can't be matched. And just the aspirations I've got, coming to a club like this is just incredible."

"The last 12 months have definitely been eventful, full of highs and lows. So, I made my England debut for the under-19s which was really great experience."

"I think for me individually, I want to be getting to the elite level and will push myself as high as I can towards the top payers at this club. Fitter, stronger, faster, making better saves fast paced shots, things like that, and just developing a mindset of someone who is going for a WSL title and to be part of that team would be really cool. So if I could see and be part of them win the WSL this season, that would be amazing."

"You've got everything you could need. And for me that wants to grow, I just think having so many specialists in different parts of the game on and off the field can really help me push myself."

The words shared by the Englishwoman has shown her desire to learn and improve during her time with the club; which she hopes will lead to her becoming one of the best and trusted upon names within the squad.

The 18-year-old could potentially make a debut when Manchester City travel for their Australia tour and then take part in the first-ever edition of The Perth Cup.

The Perth Cup will be Man City's first attempt at securing a trophy for the new season ahead. There will be four teams participating in the mini-tournament, with three Women's Super League clubs including Man City, west ham and Leicester City, the fourth place claimed by Paris Saint-Germain.

Man City will only have two fixtures; a semi-final and then either a third-place place play-off or a potential final.
