Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said that fans of the club shouldn't expect any title race with Manchester City and Arsenal despite being two points away from the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester City and Arsenal have been the two clubs that have been competing for the Premier League title the last few seasons, and it has been Manchester City who have come out successful for the last four seasons in a row, creating never done before history in the English League.

The 24/25 season table currently has Liverpool at the top of the table as Manchester City failed to earn three points in two consecutive matches, putting them one point behind the Reds, even after their 3-2 win over Fulham a few days ago.

Arsenal are on third, also on 17 points like the Cityzens and one behind Liverpool, while Chelsea and Aston Villa have equal points but with the Blues on fourth.

However, despite this close point gap, the manager of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca has insisted that his team are in no way near able to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal this season.

"I really don't think we can compete with City or Arsenal. I really don't think that because we are not ready."

The Chelsea boss said the reason is due to Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta's longevity with Manchester City and Arsenal, "If you want to compete for big things, you need time."

"It's a huge difference, so I am really convinced we cannot compete with those clubs. The target is to improve and slowly - slowly - get closer to those clubs. At the moment, we are not ready."

"For the first two months, we had a lot of noise around the club. The only part I can control is the football side. All the noise is something I cannot control. I don't know if it is real noise or not. I don't care to be honest."

Matchday eight starts on the 19 of October, with Manchester City playing Wolverhampton Wanders, Arsenal meeting Bournemouth, Aston Villa taking on Fulham and then a huge clash between Chelsea and Liverpool.
