Manchester City star name Jack Grealish has opened up about his aims for the upcoming season with the club.

When Jack Grealish signed for Manchester City back in the summer of 2021, it was right at the back of England's Euros campaign which saw the player rise to stardom, making him a desired player to recruit for the Cityzens.

Disappointingly for Grealish, his Euros were widely different this time around, as England did not select the player as a member of the squad.

England's journey to their runner-up position, for the second Euros tournament running, did not include Jack Grealish due to his form provided at the time of selection. While, his Man City teammates Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and John Stones were among the names chosen to represent the Three Lions.

The English international described his missing out on the European championships as the 'most difficult thing he's dealt with in his career' and that even said that he was 'heartbroken'.

Putting that aside, Grealish has shared his determination for the upcoming season, as he aims to get back to his top form.

"I'm happy with the way I played (during a friendly with Barcelona). Hopefully, we can have more performances like that. Obviously, I want to score more goals, get more assists and help the team like anyone does. I'll take on what the manager says and hopefully moving forward I can do that."

Jack has expressed his clear ambitions of having a better personal season than the previous one, and his attitude has not been unnoticed by his manager, Pep Guardiola.

The Manchester City boss spoke about Grealish, saying "Any complaints no - complete the opposite. The body language and his behaviour is the opposite, it's the Jack we knew."

Pep then insisted that missing out on the England squad wasn't a topic he wanted to discuss, after stating it was 'not something we needed to talk about'.

But he did carry on to say, "Hopefully it can be the spark to move forward - sometimes you need something to ignite yourself and be even better."

While Jack Grealish has indeed struggled these past few months and we have seen a decline in impact from him, we also know the talent owned by him and the capabilities he has to turn everything around - bringing himself back to his best.

Manchester City are due to return to competitive club football on the 10th of August when they meet rivals Manchester United in the Community Shield; a fixture that features the current winners of the Premier League and FA Cup.

Jack Grealish will be working towards that game, getting his and Manchester City's season off to the perfect start.
