Manchester City have announced that Pep Guardiola will be leaving the club after the season comes to an end this upcoming weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s remarkable career with Manchester City has come to a conclusion, as the Spaniard confirms the decision to move away as manager of the Premier League side.

After claiming two honours this term, the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, this makes it 20 major titles for Guardiola and Man City during their time together.

It’s clear the impact Pep had on his team, from multiple historic Premier League victories to their first-ever UEFA Champions League, and countless others as well.

He joins Bernardo Silva and John Stones, two undeniable City legends, as another name to be stepping away from the Sky Blues.

This makes it a big summer for Manchester City, one that will be crucial for not only their next campaign but also their overall future as a club. Regarding transfers, and now a new manager to guide them into more success.

It’s unknown who the next potential candidate could be for Man City and what Guardiola’s next venture will be.

This comes days after City lost the PL title to Arsenal, after a draw with Bournemouth wasn't sufficient enough to give them a chance going into the final match weekend.

But after many achievements in this decade, Pep will leave knowing just how much magic was created despite some gruelling times.

Also during Pep’s time, players such as Erling Haaland, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku, and Kyle Walker benefited from his work, helping make these players, past and present, into vital names within the club.

Now, just one game stands between Pep Guardiola and the finish line. This will be against Aston Villa on Sunday, the 24th, when the Premier League displays its last batch of fixtures.

Pep Guardiola on leaving Manchester City

“What a time we’ve had together. Don’t ask me the reasons I’m leaving. There is no reason, but deep inside, I know it’s time. Nothing is eternal; if it were, I would be here. Eternal will be the feeling, the people, the love I have for my Man City.”

“We worked. We suffered. We fought. And we did things our own way. Our way.”

“Hard work comes in many forms. To Bournemouth, when we lost the Premier League. To Istanbul”

“Remember, losing my mum during COVID and feeling this club carry me through it. The fans, the staff, the people of Manchester, you gave me strength when I needed it most. Cris, my kids, my whole family, you were there as always. Khaldoon, you were there too.”

“Players don’t forget - every single instant, moment, me, my staff, this club, everything. What we have done, we have done it for all of you. You have been just exceptional. You don‘t know it yet, but you are leaving a legacy.”

“So as my time comes to an end, be happy. Oasis are back again.”

“Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for pushing me. Thank you for loving me.”

“It has been so fun.”

“Love you all.”
