Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken out after his team's 4-0 thrashing by Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend in the premier league and looks ahead to their next UEFA Champions League game.
Manchester City are far from themselves right now, losing their third Premier League fixture in a row and overall, making git five losses on the bounce.
Their troubles started off with a 2-1 elimination to Spurs in the carabao five games ago and their latest defeat has also come to London club, but this time by four goals to none.
While many could have expected this game to be tough one for the Cityzens who were clearly struggling before intentional break, it can't be said that this scoreline would have been guessed.
Due to their 4-0 loss to Spurs, City go three games without adding any points to the Premier League table, and after a comeback from Liverpool to beat Southampton 3-2, City are now eight points away from first place; making their chances of a title defence now look quite unlikely.
Now, City will hope to make a statement in their next UEFA Champions League fixture, which comes against Feyenoord this upcoming week.
Pep Guardiola shares what he thinks about City's current situation
Despite many setbacks due to their defeats in three different competitions, Guardiola, who recently signed a new contract, still remains positive about Man City's season,
"I have the feeling that this season we will do very good things. I don't give up and I have the feeling we will be there. I think we deserve some patience when we lose games."
"You are defending a legacy and that is difficult. What I want is commitment from players to still do what we have to do. It's difficult to defend the success we have had, that's why I'm so relaxed."
"That is why i want the commitment, the commitment, the commitment and the commitment. Being ourselves isn't enough, we have to show commitment every day."
"We need to win one game. I want the players to perform well, in certain departments,, we need more focus. I learned from these situations, be calm. Sometimes I shout, but the next morning with a coffee, I'm saying why am I shouting, stay calm."
"At the beginning of the season, we were first, we're still second (Premier League). It's not about the results, right now, it is about the performances, which at the start of the season was really, really, good except the Bournemouth game."
"Prepare for the next game, try to beat them, which is Feyenoord, I don't know any other thing to say."
