Manchester City have made their second signing of the summer transfer window, as Iman Beney joins the club.
Manchester City have announced the arrival of Iman Beney from Switzerland side Young Boys Frauen.
Iman becomes the second player to join the Cityzens this summer, with Canadian Jade Rose being the first to have been confirmed just last week. The transfer window has seen these two names sign on for Manchester City after the summer started off with Laia Aleixandri and Jill Roord saying goodbye to the Sky Blues.
The Swiss international has been recruited from Young Boys Frauen after playing a crucial part in their journey to league success in the last few months. In 22 appearances for her now-former side, she scored nine goals.
Just recently, Beney has also been called up by national team Switzerland, who will be hosting the European championships, which get underway on the 2nd of July.
Manchester City will be looking to make significant changes to their squad after a disappointing campaign, but now, the focus is on the upcoming season, where they'll need to have their squad up and ready to compete for domestic titles.
Iman Beney on her move to Manchester City
"I'm happy to be here and I can't wait to start the new season with Manchester City. I had a good feeling with Therese (Sjogran), and I think Manchester City are the best solution to help develop me as a player."
"They have good ambition, and for my development, they are the best place. I think it's a good fit."
"I was in Switzerland for years, so now I think it's the time to make the next step. I would also like to thank everyone at Young Boys who helped me on my journey so far."
