Manchester City have announced the official signing of Laura Wienroither, who joins on a permanent two year deal.

Manchester City and Laura Wienroither have come to an agreement, which sees the player become an official figure at the club.

After spending last season on loan with the Sky Blues from fellow Women's Super League side Arsenal, Wienroither is now set to remain with the club as they go into the new season.

During her loan, Laura made eight appearances, and while the number is not high, the moments of game time she did have clearly left an impression, making Manchester City want to pursue her beyond a simple loan deal.

The 26-year-old has returned and will be working towards the upcoming season, which gets underway for Manchester City next month when they meet rivals Chelsea in their opening WSL fixture.

After the news was told, Laura spoke about her decision to remain at Manchester City and what her reasons were behind the conclusion.

Laura Wienroither on her move to Manchester City

"I feel like I've settled in well, I really like the girls, I like the staff. I think it's a good group. Everyone is just looking out for one another, and I'm honestly so happy to be staying here."

"So, when the opportunity came up that I can stay, I didn't have to think, it was a no-brainer for me. I'm so happy to be finally here."

"This club is made to win titles, to win trophies, and I'm here to do that. The team definitely has the qualities and potential to do that, and we do have a very successful future ahead."

"When you're away on loan, that's always a different scenario to when you're at a club permanently. As soon as the opportunity came up, I was like I don't have to think about it. It just felt right, and also when I arrived here a couple days ago, it just felt like a match. It just feels like home, that's why I'm very happy to be here."
