Manchester City have announced the extension of England international Laura Coombs, who signs on for a one year deal.
Manchester City's Women team have been making updates to the club in preparations for the new season, including transfers, exits and new managerial recruitment.
So far, we have seen the Sky Blues say goodbye to players such as Jill Roord, Chloe Kelly, and Laia Aleixandri. However, they have been busy with signing new names and have brought in Iman Beney, Jade Rose, and Sydney Lohmann. They have also secured Andree Jeglertz as their new coach.
Now, they have announced the contract extension of one of their most experienced and key players, Laura Coombs.
Since her arrival, Laura has made a total of 135 appearances in multiple leagues, while gaining a total of 21 goals to her name. An influential piece to this Manchester City squad, for sure.
Coombs shared her thoughts after her official extension was released, talking about her happiness to be staying with club.
Laura Coombs on her contract
"It feels good. I feel like it's a really good time to be involved with the club and it's a really exciting time. The club's only going to go one way, so I'm very happy to be here."
"Last time, it was a bit up and down for me. Then to have the backing of the club and another chance to have another successful season with the club has meant a lot to me."
"Obviously, we've had a bit of change over the summer, but I don't think that's going to affect where everyone is wanting to be finishing in the league and everyone wants to go as far as they can in the cups."
"If we're saying anything less than cup wins and top of the league, we're doing a disservice."
