The Dutch star has been a vital name for the Sky Blues, but her journey with the club sadly comes to an end despite there being a lot of potential for Roord and Manchester City together.

In her farewell statement, Roord also shared what the reasons were for her to decide to leave Manchester City.
What did Manchester City say?
The club stated, "Everyone at Manchester City would like to thank Jill Roord for her efforts while at the club and wish her the very best in her future career."
"Although we're naturally disappointed to see a player of Roord's quality depart the club. She'll always be welcome back with open arms and everyone at Manchester City wishes her nothing but the best for the future."
Jill Roord says goodbye
"It was definitely a difficult decision, I have mixed emotions. It was a difficult decision and one I've been thinking about."
"The main thing is, it has nothing to do with Manchester City. I love the club and I love the team and really enjoyed, my time here, but I've been playing abroad and it became more difficult for me to be away from home."
"From all the top clubs I've played, this was the nicest and easiest team for me to settle in. The whole club is very warm, everybody made me feel really welcome."
