Manchester City Women's team have made their third signing of the summer transfer window as Sydney Lohmann joins on a four year deal.
Manchester City have announced the arrival of German international Sydney Lohmann, becoming the third new player to join the Sky Blues in the last few weeks, joining the likes of Jade Rose and Iman Beney.
Currently representing her country at the European championships, Lohmann has made an overall 39 appearances for them and looks to make a big achievement in getting into the 40s. During these games, she has scored six goals for her nation.
She and Germany have qualified for the next round of the Euros despite having one match of the group stage left to play, as they have accumulated six points, as have Sweden. Both teams will try to win their group when they meet this Saturday.
The summer transfer window has been far from quiet for Manchester City, while bringing in new names, they have also lost some, such as Laia Aleixandri, Jill Roord and Chloe Kelly.
They have also found themselves a new manager in current Denmark coach, Andree Jeglertz, whose journey with Denmark will come to an end after they play their last game in the Euros.
Sydney Lohmann on joining Manchester City
"First of all, I think always when you go somewhere, a big step like that, it's always good for your growth."
"I just felt there is a lot of space to grow for the team and also for individual players and for me."
"It was an overall feeling, and always good talks. They just presented me the philosophy of Manchester City."
"I think that's something good because you can build on something over more years. There's a good plan behind everything, and that's something I liked. I definitely want to win a title because I can see that's possible."
"I want to contribute with the strengths I have. Just to develop myself and my own skills. Be open to a new culture and people, it's really new for me stepping out of my comfort zone."
