Manchester City have confirmed the official exit for England international Chloe Kelly, as she joins Arsenal on a permanent contract after the expiration of her contract.
Manchester City have announced that Chloe Kelly will not be returning to the club after she spent time on loan with fellow Women's Super League side Arsenal.
This news was expected as the player herself openly said she didn't see her foreseeable future with the Sky Blues, which led to them stating that she would no longer remain a member of the squad.
During her five seasons as a Cityzen, Chloe made 113 appearances and in the process scored 34 goals. She became a standout name for the club.
It was January of this year that Kelly moved away from the Sky Blues on a temporary deal. Since her arrival at the Gunners, she has been a part of the ultimate glory as Arsenal won the UEFA Women's Champions League with a 1-0 win over Barcelona.
Manchester City's transfer window has seen them sign players such as Jade Rose and Iman Beney, but also lose some crucial names like Laia Aleixandri, now of Barcelona, Jill Roord, now of Twente, and now Chloe Kelly.
A rather topsy-turvey sort of summer it has been so far in regards of transfers for Manchester City, which we will see how it benefits the club when they return in a few months and begin their attempt for success in the WSL.
For now, many of Manchester City's players and Chloe Kelly as well will be concentrated on the European Championships and leading their countries to the trophy. The competition will start on the 2nd of July in Switzerland and host the conclusion on the 27th of July.
