Manchester City have announced the appointment of new head coach, Andree Jeglertz.

Manchester City Women's team have brought in their brand-new manager, Andree Jeglertz, as they continue to make crucial changes ahead of the upcoming season.

The former Swedish player, now turned-coach, has agreed to join the Sky Blues from his current job, which is leading the Danish national team. He will leave Denmark and join Manchester City after the European championships, which started on the 2nd of July.

Whenever Denmark's journey in the competition comes to an end, Jeglertz will head over to his new club and work towards the upcoming Women's Super League season, where Manchester City hope to claim success.

The Summer transfer window so far has seen the Cityzens lose players such as Chloe Kelly, who signed a contract with Arsenal after spending the last months on loan with them, Laia Aleixandri, who now has joined Barcelona, and Jill Roord, now of Twente, but also secure names such as Canadian Jade Rose and Iman Beney of Switzerland.

Now, they have ticked off one of the most vital tasks from their list as they find themselves a new manager to take the reins.

Andree Jeglertz on his move to Manchester City

"I have a lot of feelings. Mostly, maybe honoured to be part of this big club and great club, but also excited to get started. I'm really looking forward to it."

"The club is one of the biggest in the world. But also, the way Therese (Sjogran) and Charlotte (O'Neill) are presenting the club, what does it stand for, what do you want from a coach, and everything that's connected to football."

"But there are a lot of things around the club that make me excited about the job. One of my key things is to come in and not try to change the world. It's about carrying on the job and taking it to the next level."

"I'm excited to work with the people. Working with people who have the same motivation and ambitions as I have."

"That, of course, excites me and also challenges me, because I need to find different ways and different players. And that's definitely an interesting job I have."
