Manchester City’s women’s team have an enormous final month of the season ahead, as they look to claim the Women’s Super League and the FA Cup.

Last month, city were triumphant against Birmingham to make it into the next FA Cup round, while in the WSL, they had a defeat to Brighton, which now puts slight stress on them in their last few tasks.

It’s  been quite the campaign for the Cityzens; they have been a side with a proper purpose, and their ability to end the term with two honours is a result of that.

In the FA Cup, after a 1-0 victory against Birmingham a few weeks ago, Manchester City are now a match away from the final. However, they must take on their rivals, Chelsea, to make it.

Then, after their missed opportunity to gain three more points in the league, City are on 49 points, while second-place Chelsea are on 43. However, Arsenal, who despite having 38 points, have a chance due to playing fewer fixtures.

Manchester City cannot afford to be defeated to either Liverpool or West ham, though, the title is still very much seeming as theirs, the Gunners have a big chance to potentially take over if City lose anymore points and they get all of theirs.

Overall, this will be an essential month for Man City’s season.

Manchester City’s match schedule

Manchester City vs Liverpool - Sunday, the 3rd of May at 12:00 (UK) WSL

Chelsea vs Manchester City - Sunday, the 10th of May at 15:30 (UK) FA Cup

West ham vs Manchester City - Saturday, the 16th of May at 13:00 (UK) WSL

Possible FA Cup final - Sunday, the 31st of May at 15:00

Getting started with Liverpool, City will aim to get their second win over them this season. Their first being a dramatic 2-1 result that boosted them in their title race.

Then, the FA Cup will involve another encounter for Man City and Chelsea. They have taken on one another three times this term: a 2-1 win for the opponents, then another win for Chelsea that was 1-0 in the League Cup, and after, back in the league, an outstanding 5-1 victory for Manchester City.

And, their last WSL match is with West ham, a side they have defeated twice, 1-0 and 5-1. When this happens, maybe City will already be the winners of the WSL, or this could be crucial in their bid.

The FA Cup

Liverpool vs Brighton

Chelsea vs Manchester City

Two all-league meetings. It would be considered that whoever wins the game between City and Chelsea would be likely to go on and win the competition. But Liverpool and Brighton won’t let this run end that easily.

The Women’s Super League

1: Manchester City 49pts - maximum 55pts (Two fixtures)

2: Chelsea 43pts - maximum 49pts (Two fixtures)

3: Arsenal 38pts - maximum 53pts (Five fixtures)

Arsenal are City’s biggest worry. Though there are many reassuring elements, such as a superior goal difference, if it came to that, and also, they just have to rely on themselves.

Also, if the Cityzens win a game and then Arsenal drop one, the trophy becomes theirs.

Chelsea are very much out of this quest, even if they can match the points, the goal difference isn't in their favour. They now must stay within the top three, with there being a few teams nearby.

This is an immensely crucial month for Manchester City, and every display will decide what their 25/26 season will end with.
