Manchester City’s women’s team have reached their penultimate month of the season, where they remain in contention for two titles.
Manchester City have a new month of fixtures to participate in, coming in different competitions.
During March, City had three games, in which they claimed two wins and a draw. Against Aston Villa, it was a rather surprising 0-0 draw, but then they got back on track when they met Tottenham and won 5-2, and in the Manchester derby, they defeated their rivals 3-0.
In the Women’s Super League, with there only being a few matches left, these are crucial for Manchester City to keep their lead over Chelsea. The current gap is nine points, so for Chelsea to pull off a comeback, they’d have to be flawless in these tasks coming up, and they’d need their opponents to be unable to gain any more points.
Due to this, it does seem that Manchester City will be achieving this term’s WSL honour after a lot of hard work.
Elsewhere, they remain in the FA Cup as well. During the last round, they were triumphant against Sheffield, with a 4-0 result.
They will now look to add another positive scoreline and move into another draw that brings them closer to potentially getting the trophy.
Manchester City women’s schedule
Birmingham vs Manchester City - Monday, the 6th at 17:00 (UK) FA Cup
Brighton vs Manchester City - Saturday, the 25th at 12:00 (UK) WSL
Just two matches this month, but both are key in their campaign.
Beginning with Birmingham, this will determine whether they stay in the FA Cup and within potential to claim two titles.
And in the league, after a break, they’ll encounter Brighton, a side they’ve already defeated 2-1 during the WSL so far.
These will require performances that can take them further into their quest. Besides reaching another stepping stone in the FA Cup, they could also officially make the league theirs within the next few weeks.
