Manchester City took on Fulham in the Premier League, where they claimed a 5-4 win.
Manchester City met Fulham in a midweek Premier League fixture, and it was quite the game as the result ended in a 5-4 win for Manchester City.
Going into the game at the back of a 3-2 win against Leeds, Manchester City were looking to add to that by getting a result against Fulham, who themselves were going into the fixture from a 2-1 win against Tottenham.
The table saw Arsenal at the top with a five-point gap between themselves and Manchester City, who had taken over Chelsea after their win.
The Cityzens would have been aiming to keep up with their opponents, and they were tasked against Fulham to do so.
The fixture began with Erling Haaland getting Manchester City up 1-0 and officially claiming a 100 PL goal, and it didn’t take long until Phil Foden and Tijjani Reijnders made the scoreline 3-0. Fulham did get one before half-time, making it 3-1.
In the next half, Manchester City were 5-1 up. It did seem as though Manchester City had an easy night until Fulham had other thoughts. By the last 10 minutes, Fulham had made it 4-5, a surprising score no one expected.
Though Manchester City were capable of holding on, claiming a 5-4 victory, it was a lot of work.
With this result, Manchester City went closer to Arsenal, who then defeated Brentford 2-0, and remained as leaders with the same point gap as they had going into these fixtures.
Next up, Manchester City take on Sunderland, a side who have had quite the positive beginning to life in the Premier League.
