Manchester City are preparing to meet Bournemouth in their penultimate Premier League match, which is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Manchester City missed playing their Premier League fixture on the weekend as they had the FA Cup final to participate in, where they were defeated 1-0 by Crystal Palace, who went on to claim the title.
Now, they focus on securing a top-five position in the Premier League, and they only have two matches left to do so. Currently, they have been overtaken and have been knocked down to sixth place, which they'll need to make up for by getting the victory over Bournemouth.
Right now, they have got themselves a total of 65 points, which is only one away from the top five, but they are also equal on points with seventh place, meaning they could easily slip down to that number instead.
Two vital matches for the Sky Blues, these will be, where they must achieve victories to get back into the top five and finish there as well after the final match weekend, which is only a few days away.
Their last two opponents will be Bournemouth on Tuesday and then Fulham on Sunday. While City will be slight favourites for these two matchups, considering their last few results, it will be safe to assume that it will be far from simple.
Pep Guardiola on the upcoming Bournemouth task
"They (Bournemouth) made a big impact. They are a really, really good team."
"We will prepare, and I want to see how the players recover. We have to recover quick (from the FA Cup loss)."
"Of course it's important. But if we don't (qualify) we don't deserve it, and we will play the Europa League. I'm thinking we are going to qualify."
