Manchester City keep their busy transfer window going by bringing in Brazilian talent Allan Elias from Palmeiras for a fee of €40m.

Allan comes in as Man City’s seventh signing of the Enzo Maresca era. He joins Mathys Detourbet, record transfer Elliot Anderson, Pierce Charles, Jeremy Monga, Gerónimo Rulli, and Ayyoub Bouaddi as incoming transfers from the summer window.

Maresca is clearly building a roster in his own vision, willing to part ways with long-time players of the club, including Manuel Akanji, Bernardo Silva, Nathan Aké, John Stones, Steffen Ortega, and Ballon d’Or winner Rodri. The club have also transferred Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford, Kalvin Phillips, Savinho, and Omar Marmoush, totaling eleven permanent departures.

City are making big changes this window and appear to make more in the last week of the summer window with more new signings and player sales expected.

What to know about Allan

A 22-year-old winger from Palmeiras, a club known for producing some of the brightest young talents Brazil has to offer. The club has paved paths for Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, more recently Endrick, and Estevao.

Palmeiras is Allan’s boyhood club where he featured for the U17 and U20 squads before breaking into the first team in January 2025.

He featured in 28 games, scoring 2 goals and assisting on 3 in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, adding an assist in the CONMEBOL Libertadores. This season, he’s already doubled his goal scoring tally from the previous year in league play, putting up 4 goals and 3 assists, adding to his stats in tournaments as well.

Allan is a replacement for Savinho who was just sold to Tottenham Hotspur, another club having a busy transfer window. Though he isn’t proven in Europe and will make a big jump from Palmeiras, Man City are betting on the talented youngster's potential and his ability to make the leap to Premier League football.

Expectations for the final week of the transfer window

Manchester City show no signs of slowing down to close out the summer transfer window with rumors and reports circulating.

Enzo Fernández is a name to keep an eye out for. Maresca has a history with the player from his time, as Chelsea’s manager, reports suggest he is a top target for City in this window. Chelsea have reportedly set a hefty price tag on the midfielder. However, Manchester City are in daily contact and plans to push for his signature before the window closes.

Cody Gakpo is a new name that has come up a lot recently. Gakpo has had personal terms with Tottenham agreed for a few months now but City have made contact with his camp and look to enter the race for the Dutch winger. Liverpool only plans to sell him if they can secure two wingers before the window ends, however, so a lot goes into that deal.

Manchester City and Maresca are making a splash this window and Allan is the newest addition. Now he will have his eyes set on a debut in the Manchester Blue.
