Manchester City Women's team announced the arrival of Andree Jeglertz a few days ago, becoming the club's new manager.
Manchester City's women have a new coach in Andree Jeglertz, the former player and now-turned manager from Sweden. He signs on from his current role, which is leading the Danish women's national team, as he is doing right now in the European championships.
Denmark's journey in the Euros has come to an early end though, as they sit in third on zero points with only one match to go. Jeglertz will leave and start his position as head coach of Manchester City ahead of the upcoming season, where the Sky Blues attempt success in domestic competitions.
During one of his welcome interviews, Jeglertz discussed the idea of bringing in new players, sharing his hopes of the club getting new recruits, as he believes that it is crucial.
The transfer window so far has seen two new names join the Cityzens, as Canadian Jade Rose, Sydney Lohmann from Germany, and Iman Beney of Switzerland signed on. But they have also lost Laia Aleixandri to Barcelona, Jill Roord to Twente and Chloe Kelly, who joined Arsenal permanently in the process.
Andree Jeglertz on his hope to bring in fresh players
"First of all, the squad is great. There is so much talent inside the group. With both young and older players and experienced players, the mix is great."
"Of course, there is always importance in having some new, fresh players coming in. But I think Therese (Sjogran) and Charlotte (O'neill) are the ones leading that."
"I can definitely put my input, but I have full trust in the things they're doing and that they're doing the best for the club and for the team."
"I totally trust the team they will build for me."
The reminder of the summer will see if Manchester City meet the demands voiced by Andree, and if they do, who those signings will be.
