Manchester City met Al Ain in their second game of the FIFA Club World Cup, where a massive 6-0 victory secured their place in the next round.
Manchester City have qualified for the next stage of the FIFA Club World Cup despite having one match of their group still left to undergo, due to a 2-0 win over Wydad and now a 6-0 against Al Ain.
A comfortable 90 minutes saw the Cityzens breeze past their opponents, with six goals coming from five different scorers.
Kicking things off was Ilkay Gundogan, who netted in the first goal of the match, just eight minutes in. Claudio Echeverri made in 2-0 before the 30th minute and just before halftime, Erling Haaland added a third.
Ilkay Gundogan got himself another with 20 minutes or so to go. Then, Oscar Bobb decided to give it a go and was successful in trying, and then a few minutes later, Rayan Cherki scored his first goal for his new club.
A whopping 6-0 win keeps Manchester City on a high, winning both of their fixtures in the competition so far. The win also means that they have booked their place in the next round, even though they still have Juventus to take on in their third match, which will happen on Thursday, the 26th, at 20:00 (UK).
The winner of that fixture will determine who Manchester City will play from group H, which will be Real Madrid, RB Salzburg or Al Hilal.
Ilkay Gundogan reacts to Manchester City's victory
"Throughout periods, it was a really good performance. I think we had our moments in the first half and then also the second part of the second half."
"Unfortunately, we started the second half a bit slow, so there wasn't much time in the end to score another goal, which would put us ahead of Juventus before the last game."
"That's a bit slightly disappointing, but I think the result speaks for itself and it was deserved."
