After superb results by Manchester City in December 2025, the Mancunians took a bit of a stumble in January. They won only one of their five matches in the English Premier League that month, drawing three. Despite the results, Manchester City remain in second place in the EPL table, only four points behind current league leaders Arsenal.

Similarly, in the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City earned a surprising defeat in Norway to Bodø/Glimt, putting them in potential of missing out on the top eight. Though a win against Galatasaray and results elsewhere going in their favour mean the Sky Blues have ended the league phase with an automatic qualification.

But it was not all bad in January. In the EFL “Carabao” Cup semifinals, Manchester City defeated Newcastle 2-0. The triumph gives the Cityzens control of this tie against the Magpies as they prepare for the second leg. Finally, in January, Manchester City entered the FA Cup in the competition’s third round. They defeated Exeter City 10-1.

February will also be filled with a congested schedule. Manchester City will encounter seven matches across three competitions. They will participate in the Premier League, the Carabao Cup, and the FA Cup.

Manchester City will begin the month with a visit to Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL. The Spurs will host the Sky Blues on Sunday, 1 February. Ever since Tottenham moved from White Hart Lane to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Manchester City have struggled at the new ground. They have only won twice at this venue since it opened in 2019.

Following this fixture, the Sky Blues attempt their aim in the second leg of the Carabao Cup’s semi-final. Manchester City will host Newcastle United on Wednesday, 4 February. Should City win on aggregate, then they will progress to the Carabao Cup Final. That would be played in Wembley on Sunday, 22 March.

After, Manchester City will return to the Premier League. They will travel to face Liverpool on Sunday, 8 February. Like the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Anfield is another venue where Manchester City have struggled throughout their visits.

Following the match against Liverpool, the Sky Blues will remain focused on the EPL. Manchester City will host Fulham on Wednesday, 11 February. The reverse fixture had City claim a 5-4 result. The Sky Blues will hope for less drama in this match.

After this PL game, Manchester City then return to the FA Cup. They will host Salford City at home in the competition’s fourth round. This will be played on Saturday, 14 February.

Man City will have a Premier League task with a home match against Newcastle United. It will be played on Saturday, 21 February. This will be a contested fixture as both sides will look to make a point following the second leg of the Carabao Cup’s semi-final earlier this month.

The Cityzens will then conclude the month of February with an EPL match against Leeds United. The Whites will host the Sky Blues on Saturday, 28 February.

In short, the upcoming schedule will be demanding on Manchester City throughout the course of February. It will also be season-defining. Should the Sky Blues earn positive scorelines against their opponents in these competitions, then they will find themselves in serious contention for trophies this season. But should they fail to perform well, then they could see themselves fall out of contention for silverware fairly quickly. With new signings in January and the hope that several players will return from injury, a rejuvenated Manchester City squad may be ready to ramp up and avoid another trophyless season in the campaign.
