Manchester City played their second Premier League match, where they were faced with a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Manchester City's latest game saw them unable to claim a win as they were defeated by Tottenham with a 2-0 scoreline.
The Premier League got underway a few weeks ago, and Manchester City's opening fixture put them at the top of the table as they overcame Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0.
As the Sky Blues looked to back up that positive performance with a victory over Tottenham, who began their PL with a 3-0 over Burnley, Manchester City struggled against the Europa League holders as they found themselves 2-0 down before halftime and were unable to get anything out of the last 45 minutes.
2-0 was the result, which saw Tottenham claim three points, and for Manchester City, highlighted the work that still needs doing in order for them to be able to compete for the Premier League title.
Despite the loss, the Cityzens haven't been pushed down too much as they sit on fifth place, but will be aiming to get things back on track next time when they meet Brighton.
Elsewhere, over the course of the match weekend, there were eight winners from the 10 matches, meaning eight clubs claimed three points to add to their names, while eight sides were unable to achieve the outcomes they would have wanted. Also, there were two draws, meaning four teams added one point to their names.
Pep Guardiola on Manchester City's loss
"It's just the second game. Last game against Wolves, everyone said everything it's fine, and I said it's just one game and a lot is going to happen."
"I know how we are working and what the players are doing. There are many good things, but we have to improve."
"The result is not good, but there's a long way."
