Manchester City played Bournemouth on Tuesday night in the Premier League, where they secured a vital 3-1 victory.

Manchester City met Bournemouth in their penultimate fixture of the season earlier this week, where they got themselves a 3-1 win and three points to climb back into the top five.

Omar Marmoush, Bernardo Silva and Nico Gonzalez were the three goal scorers on the night, while Jebbison got one back for the Cherries late into the 90th minute. The three points have gained them a total of 68 points going into the last game, two away from the outside of the top five.

The result means Manchester City have gone up to third on the table and will head into the final match of the season with an advantage of only needing a draw to have a top-five finish.

The Cityzens are aiming towards ending the season on a positive note, and the only way they can do that is by securing a finish in the Premier League on either third, fourth or fifth. Their win over Bournemouth puts them in a good positive, with a high chance of achieving their goal.

An intense final match weekend of the Premier League can be expected, as all clubs play their last fixture at the same time this Sunday. For five teams, only three of them can join Liverpool and Arsenal in the top five, while the other two will have to accept sixth and seventh, coming ever so close to getting the glorious spot.

Pep Guardiola ahead of Fulham

"We need to get a result. We have a final and it will be so tough to take the point that we need, but it's really important."

"To be in the Champions League after what has happened this season would be nice."
