Manchester City have announced their latest signing of the winter transfer window, as Brazilian striker Kerolin Nicolli joins the club.
Joining from North Carolina Courage of the NWSL, Kerolin signs a deal that keeps her at the club until 2028 as she becomes Manchester City's first-ever Brazilian player.
During her three seasons at North Carolina Courage, Kerolin bagged a total of 19 goals in 48 appearances; with her highest single goalscoring season at the club coming in 2023 where she claimed 11 goals.
Her impact and especially her high potential caught the attention of Manchester City, who seem to be aiming to add to their already powerful goalscorers within their squad.
Kerolin has already made her first appearance for the Cityzens. She was subbed on during the 76th minute of their 4-2 victory over Aston Villa on the weekend, making her official debut along with City's other new signing, Aemu Oyama.
Kerolin Niccoli on her arrival to the Sky Blues
"I think there were a lot of reasons why I chose City and one of those was to play in the Champions League. Also, I want to try to become the best player in the world and I know here, I can be better at soccer and also learn how to play in England and be the best player in the world."
"It is amazing to be here. When I look to other countries and the tournament is hard, but I look to England everyone says this is the best place to be."
"To give more of a vision of the world, England is the best and to play in the Champions League is going to help so much."
"When I was looking for the league, here I think the players are really technical and teams are compact. I want to be better, to learn different things and to come here to be challenged and also play against the defenders who will play in the next World Cup in Brazil 2027. It makes me confident to be prepared for the next World Cup."
"I have so much confidence, but I know it's going to be really hard, so I need to keep working hard to be great here. I like to be challenged and before I came here I knew it would be a challenge, but I think the way I can play is showing the coach in every training session."
"I can't wait to start to show him my game, have some starts or whatever he thinks is better for the team. I heard a lot that I'm really fast. I really love one against ones, so I'd say I'm fast, good ability. I really love to score goals. I'm really excited to be part of the team. So, I'm really excited to start training and do my things."
