Manchester City debuted two of their latest signings during the match against Chelsea over the Premier League weekend, with both Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov making the starting line-up.

The January transfer window has seen some big changes for Manchester City: Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis were all recruited by the club to help strengthen the squad. City also had a big transfer away from the club, as former captain Kyle Walker signed a loan deal with AC Milan.

Man City's latest fixture came against Enzo Maresca's Chelsea, who have had a decent display so far this season, as they have found themselves in the top four and even second place on numerous occasions; which is a big difference from the previous campaign.

When the match got underway, things couldn't have started off in a worse way for Manchester City, as they found themselves 1-0 down in just the third minute after a goal by Madueke.

Right before halftime, a shot from Matheus Nunes was rebounded off the goalkeeper which resulted in Josko Gvardiola slotting the ball into the back of the net, taking City into the break 1-1.

Erling Haaland made it 2-1 before the 70th minute, thanks to an incredibly taken long-distant chip-in, which Chelsea could do nothing about.

It seemed like Man City were going for a 2-1 win, but like we've seen in recent times, the Cityzens' fate can change in the blink of an eye. But this time, there were no unexpected twists and turns, just a Phil Foden goal in the 87th minute to secure a 3-1 victory and very importantly, three points.

Matchday 23 ends with Manchester City up to fourth place with 41 points, the same amount of points as Newcastle United who are in fifth. Nottingham Forest are now only three points ahead of fourth place, while Arsenal move within six points of leaders Liverpool.

Omar Marmoush was quick to make an impression of himself for his new team, giving a glimpse of what he can bring to Manchester City as time progresses.

The Egyptian striker earned praise from his fellow teammate, Erling Haaland, "I think especially in the first half, you can see he has something special. There's a reason City bought him because he has something special. He got straight in the team and it's about getting to know him as soon as possible because there are so many important games coming."

"It's about giving him confidence and he's going to be a fantastic player for us. He had an amazing first half of the season with Frankfurt and hopefully, he's going to have the same season with us now for the second half of the season."

Manager Pep Guardiola also had some positive words to say about City's new addition, "He (Marmoush) is a calm guy and he has pace, he can shoot, he's intelligent at defending. I am really pleased with what I have seen so far."

Omar himself expressed his delight with his first time in the Sky Blue jersey, "Yeah, it was an amazing debut. I'm really happy to be here. The debut was really, really nice. We won the game, I'm so happy to be here."

"Hopefully I will keep going that way. It is just the beginning and here's to many more wins."
