Manchester City produced mixed results in March 2026. In the English Premier League, they dropped points against Nottingham Forest and West Ham United. The results mean they are now nine points behind the current league leaders, Arsenal. The Sky Blues, however, have a game in hand and still have to play the Gunners.
Manchester City is also nine points behind Arsenal. Depending on how the game in hand and the match against Arsenal go, City could still be within contention for the EPL title this season. As for the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City’s ambitions to win the trophy during the 2025/2026 campaign came to an end after losing to Real Madrid in the Round of 16.
The Sky Blues did succeed elsewhere last month, however. They defeated Newcastle United in the FA Cup’s Fifth Round, thus progressing to the next round. Additionally, City won their first trophy in the 2025/2025 campaign by defeating Arsenal in the EFL “Carabao” Cup Final. The Sky Blues defeated the Gunners 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.
How does Man City's April look?
Manchester City will hope to build off their FA Cup and Carabao Cup results as they enter April. This month, they will play four matches across two competitions. They will participate in the EPL and the FA Cup.
The Sky Blues will begin the month with a match in the FA Cup. Manchester City will host Liverpool on Saturday, 4 April for the competition’s quarterfinals. The Sky Blues have already defeated the Reds, both home and away, this season, and they will hope to replicate that success in the EPL in this FA Cup matchup.
Following the FA Cup Quarterfinal game, Manchester City will shift their focus to the EPL. They will travel to London to face Chelsea. The match will be held on Sunday, 12 April. The two teams previously drew at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season, and it is expected this will be another tight affair.
After the Chelsea match, the Sky Blues will play another EPL game in which many have deemed as the title decider for this season. Manchester City will host Arsenal on Sunday, 19 April. The previous encounter ended in a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium during the early stages of the 2025/2026 season. The Sky Blues will hope to narrow the gap at the top of the EPL table while the Gunners will look to put an end to their title challengers this season.
Manchester City will then conclude the month with another EPL fixture as they visit Burnley. They will play on Sunday, 26 April. The Sky Blues previously defeated the Clarets at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season.
In short, the Sky Blues have four critical matches this month. Should they fail to earn results, then the Carabao Cup may be the only trophy they secure this season. Nonetheless, they will hope to put on strong performances as they hope to make the end of the 2025/2026 campaign interesting. Time will tell how the Sky Blues will perform in April 2026.
