Manchester City secured a comfortably convincing victory during the Premier League weekend as they beat Newcastle United 4-0, and now hope to bring the same sort of element into their second leg against Real Madrid this week.
Manchester City met Newcastle United in a huge task for the Premier League match week 25 on the weekend.
Going into the fixture, Man City had a big job ahead of them against the Magpies and a victory was a must for them, especially after Chelsea were beaten 3-0 the day prior; giving the Cityzens an opportunity to go ahead of them into the top four.
While winning 4-0 and claiming the three vital points, the standout highlight of the match was City's new winter signing Omar Marmoush not only scoring his first goal for the Sky Blues but also securing an incredible hattrick to help give his new side the win.

Marmoush got his name on the scoresheet three times in the first half, certainly giving City a huge confidence boost going into the second half. The fourth goal came from James McAtee in the 84th minute to really cement the win. It ended 4-0 for Manchester City, and they end the weekend with 44 points on fourth place, one ahead of Chelsea and Bournemouth.
Now, Manchester City shift their attention to their second-leg match against Real Madrid this upcoming Wednesday: where they'll need to comeback from a 3-2 defeat in order to remain in this season's Champions League.
Pep Guardiola talks Real Madrid task
"There are many games that we weren't playing at our level and the next game we lost. It happened a lot of times. If you ask anybody before that game, we have 1% but as much as we have a chance we will try. That's for sure."
"This season the reality is we have been miles, miles away. If you tell me that we would perform like today (vs Newcastle) and finish 22nd in Champions League, of course not. We would finish higher."
"The results have been poor this season. Just for one game, I'm not going to change my opinion. We are still not good day by day in terms of being there but it's better with this result. The chances are small because the result was not good but as much as we have a chance, we are going to take it and we will see what happens."
