Manchester City have six matches remaining to complete their task of finishing in the top five in the Premier League and securing UEFA Champions League football for the next season.

Manchester City have a few more matches left in this season's Premier League, and their aim to finish the term in the top five is getting tougher and tougher as the conclusion looms.

After the latest PL weekend, where Man City were 5-2 winners over Crystal Palace, the race for the top five has been heating up. Five clubs are close to gaining a UCL ticket, as only three points separate seventh from third.

A reminder that an extra spot has been granted to the Premier League after Arsenal's 3-0 first-leg win over Real Madrid in the Champions League. This advantage will definitely be a positive boost for the Cityzens, who have been really struggling to get themselves into the top four.

Fighting for the top five alongside Man City are Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Aston Villa. With six matches left, the Sky Blues are on fifth place with their next fixture coming against Everton.

Pep Guardiola on the race

"It's not perfect but it's in our hands in the last six games to qualify for the UEFA Champions League."

"The players must mentally rest. Then we prepare for four or five days before (next Saturday) and an important week with Aston Villa, then the FA Cup semi-final."

"I think we will be ready. The players are exceptional. I'm not going to tell them they are not good, it's the complete opposite."

"It's not much more complicated than that. Want to be in the Champions League next season and live the Tuesday and Wednesday with the elite, you have to win almost all games."
