Manchester City women's team announced the arrival of German international Sydney Lohmann, as she becomes the latest name to join the club in this summer's transfer window.

Manchester City have had a busy transfer window so far, with not only losing players such as Laia Aleixandri, Jill Roord and Chloe Kelly but bringing in new names like Jade Rose, Iman Beney and recently Sydney Lohmann. They also brought in a new head coach in Andree Jeglertz, who is currently preparing to manage his last game for Denmark.

Sydney Lohmann is also representing her nation in the European championships, as are many other Manchester City players. Her country Germany, have already secured their place in the next round, despite having one match of the group left to play.

Lohmann is already familiar with a Sky Blue, Rebecca Knaak, who also plays for Germany. Lohmann spoke about joining her international teammate at the club.

Sydney Lohmann on Rebecca Knaak

"To be honest, I was speaking to her before and also asked her a few questions about how things are. We were sending voice messages back and forth, and she sounded happy and excited."

"And she said how great things are, that there is actually so much more to come and that she thinks there's a lot of spcae to develop."

"We had a lot of contact, and I was impressed with that she said. I think that's a nice bond we have going."

"I'm happy for her, and I'm happy to share those moments with her. Everyone who plays here says how challenging the league is, how good it is, how tough every game is. I think that's something that excites me."

"I'm expecting a physical league, games that are tight and hard to win. Just to challenge yourself is something I'm looking forward to."
