Manchester City faced a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League over the weekend, making it their ninth defeat in their last 12 matches.

Manchester City's situation keeps going from bad to worse recently with the Cityzens conceding their ninth loss in their last 12 fixtures, which includes two draws and only one victory.

As a result of their loss, Man City are now ranked seventh in the Premier League with 27 points. Ahead of them are Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Chelsea, and leaders Liverpool. While being 12 points away from first place and eight away from second, City are also four behind fourth place.

City's chances of reattaining the Premier League title is looking very unlikely which the way their form is going and the huge point gap as well; 12 points seems a rather significant mountain to overcome and it's to be remembered that Liverpool have played one game less this season.

During the Premier League weekend, Liverpool beat Tottenham 6-3 to really cement themselves as potential title winners in a few months' time.

However, for Man City, the end of the 24/25 season isn't looking ideal at the current moment as their journey in the Carabao Cup has already come to an end and in the UEFA Champions League, they have only claimed two wins and are currently 22nd in the league phase.

The Sky Blues have a lot of improvement to do if they are to have a positive end to the season. However, manager Pep Guardiola once again reminds everyone of the success his club has achieved in the last few seasons.

"I learn. they learn. We think about Everton and not much longer than that. You lose another game and you have to think about what to do in the next to winning."

"I am here to give my answer, but I don't have a defence, I said when you lose a lot of games it's a business and you have to win."

"This team was consistent for so long and we broke all the records, now we are on the other side, that's the truth. We have to find a way."

"We're in that position, something everything is harder but players have to be 'okay guys, we will try'. At the end, it's just a game. You can win games, lose games, be the same, change things, but it's just a game."

"We deal with it when we won a lot and it was exceptional, but now it's a game that we are living in a different part which we didn't expect."

"I don't know what the outcome will be, but life gives you that challenge and you have to deal with it. I am dealing with it as much as I can."
