Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke about one of City's players, who he believes has potential of becoming a huge talent in the seasons to come.

Manchester City played their ninth fixture of the premier league 24/25 season, as they met Southampton on Saturday the 25 of October, winning narrowly after a fifth-minute goal from Erling Haaland to secure a 1-0 win.

Going into the weekend, Man City were just one point behind leaders Liverpool and as City did their part of continuing their unbeaten streak this season, Liverpool dropped points after a 2-2 draw with third-paced Arsenal.

Now, it's Manchester City who top the Premier League with 23 points to their name and the Reds go on second with one point less than the cityzens.

Moving back to the city boss, Pep mentioned City's latest arrival in the squad and discussed his views on the player's display so far, as Savinho settles into life as a cityzen.

Pep Guardiola impressed with Savinho.

"What I like is I have the feeling he wants to be the best, the best on the pitch, to try things and participate in everything, to have the ball and try again. He's not scoring goals but he will take the ball and shoot. We had a free-kick against Wolves and he wanted to take it. He's a young guy and I have the feeling that he's here to become a good player."

"That defines the really good players, with courage and consistency with his ambition, he will get there."

After spending last season with La Liga club Girona, going on loan from Troyes, Savinho signed for Manchester City. The Brazilian has made 12 appearances so far and provided two assists for his teammates.

The 20-year-old continues to improve and grow for his new club, and clearly his efforts have not gone unnoticed by Pep Guardiola.

Savinho will be aiming to have a chance to make an influential impact against Toteenham this coming Wednesday, as City will take them on in the Carabao Cup.
