As Manchester City returns from the international break facing Liverpool and also the backlash and questions related to the club recently being found guilty of breaking financial fair play rules (and other charges), one concern in the week before the match was whether Erling Haaland was going to be fit to play.

The obvious truth is: He is. He took himself out of a recent Norway match while his team was playing Portugal, and he even limped off the pitch. The problem was due to him being exhausted, though, and not suffering from a leg or ankle issue.

Man City gave him a few extra days of rest before returning to training ahead of the Liverpool match, and if he fails at Anfield, it won't be because he is hurt. At least, not entering the match. Hopefully, nothing will change during it either.

Erling Haaland is fully fit for Manchester City vs. Liverpool

While the Liverpool match might be pure chaos due to the situation surrounding Man City, that chaos won't come because Haaland isn't available. He will play, and let's just hope he scores three early and ends any potential drama with the outcome.

That, of course, wouldn't make the rest of the Premier League happy. Seemingly, everyone wants City to lose for allegedly breaking rules. The situation might unite the Blues, though, because when everyone is rooting against you, you only want to win more. That is the assumption anyway, so let's just hope City extends its league win streak to six straight to begin the season.

Erling Haaland's injury history with Man City

  • October 2022 - Foot bruise (missed two games)
  • March 2023 - Groin injury (missed one game)
  • December 2023 - Stress reaction to bone (missed 10 games)
  • April 2024 - Muscle injury (missed two games)
  • February 2025 - Knee injury (missed one game)
  • March 2025 - Ankle injury (missed six games)
  • February 2026 - Bruise (missed one game)

Overall, Haaland obviously stays healthy. He did seem to struggle with an issue last season when he played, but he didn't produce goals at his normal level. At least heading into the Liverpool match, fans know he hasn't been hurt, just tired.
