Manchester City have suffered their very-first of the season, after a 2-0 loss to Chelsea over the weekend in the Women's Super League.

In a vital fixture for the top of the table, Manchester City took on second-placed Chelsea in a bit to go four points clear at the top of the WSL table. Even though going into the game City had one point more than chelsea, it was to be noted that Chelsea had played one fixture less than the Cityzens, which added even more importance for City to get a victory.

To Man City's despair, they weren't able to see off the Blues and suffered their first defeat of the season, with Chelsea coming out the superior side winning 2-0 with goals from Ramirez and Reltan.

Chelsea are now the League leaders with 21 points in seven fixtures, while Manchester City drop to second with 19 points in eight games.

"For sure, the League's never won in November. We've been on an incredible run. We're obviously disappointed not to extend that, but that's football."

"We'll be back and make sure we're ready for the next game and the next WSL game after the international break."

Gareth Taylor insists that there is nothing to worry about because the League has a very long way until the end. While this remains very true, and we know that there can be many ups and downs on the way to the final matchday, there is still no doubt that Chelsea's victory boosts their chances of retaining the title.

Manchester City will need to continue the strong performances that we've seen so far, but improvements will be crucial if they are to have an actual bid in winning the WSL.

Next, attention shifts to the UEFA Women's Champions League, where a victory over Hammarby would confirm Man City's place in the next round.
