The UEFA Champions League showcased its second part to matchday one on Wednesday, where a further six fixtures were played out.
The Champions League has gotten underway, and we have seen 12 games all completed for matchday one, with six more left to go.
The league phase began on Tuesday, where we saw the first batch of matches take place, getting the anticipated competition well and truly underway.
The league phase consists of eight matchdays. The clubs who claim a spot from one to eight will automatically qualify for the next round, whereas those who end on ninth to 24th will have to go through an extra round in order to join the already qualified eight.
This system means every game, every result and every point makes a massive difference, which gives us high intensity right from the beginning.
Among the first games were some massive results, such as Juventus’s 4-4 draw with Dortmund, Qarabag’s 3-2 win over Benfica, and PSV’s 3-1 loss to Union SG.
On Wednesday, the second part of matchday one was held, and we were treated to further games. On Thursday, it will be the last part of the Champions League’s matchday one, getting every club up and running on the table.
